An inspiring and educational project that teaches students about the 2001 campaign to vote for the new seven wonders of the world. This project allows students to research and discover extraordinary places, understanding what makes them unique and significant.

Key Learning Objectives

History and Culture

Students will learn about the 2001 campaign and the original and new 7 wonders of the world, exploring their historical and cultural significance.

Research

Students will research various wonders around the world, gathering information about their history, significance, and unique features.

Presentation

Students will develop skills in promoting and presenting information through various media formats.

Subjects

  • Students identify and research significant landmarks or natural wonders around the world. They use digital maps to locate their site and compare it with their school’s position, building spatial awareness and global place knowledge.

  • Students create promotional materials—including brochures, posters, and scripts—to advertise their chosen wonder. This builds persuasive writing, information structuring, and effective communication skills.

  • Students use tools like Canva, Adobe Express, Flipgrid, and Google Slides to create professional-quality brochures and promotional videos. They learn to design, edit, and publish digital content.

  • Students work with international partners to showcase and celebrate global landmarks. By sharing research and promotional media, they gain intercultural appreciation and practice teamwork across borders.

Creative Outcome

The final collaborative challenge involves students promoting their chosen 'wonder' through various formats.

Live Presentation

Some students will give live presentations about their wonder, sharing their research and persuasive arguments.

Promotional Literature

Students might create brochures that highlight the features and significance of their wonder.

Digital Media

Others might develop websites or produce videos showcasing their wonder.

After all presentations and promotional materials are shared, students may participate in a final vote to decide which wonders they believe should be considered among the 7 wonders of the world.
