Time Travellers

Zoom through history and travel across time zones to uncover the stories of time.

Time Travellers

Key Learning Objectives

Time Travellers provides an engaging opportunity for students to explore the concept of time across cultures, history, and the modern world. Through collaborative challenges, students investigate how humans have measured time throughout history, compare global time zones, and reflect on how time shapes daily life and human connection. Working together with international partners, students develop critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills while creating shared timelines, collaborative maps, and imaginative reflections about the future of timekeeping. The project encourages curiosity, creativity, and global understanding as students journey through the past, present, and future of time.

Understanding Time

Students will explore the concept of time and reflect on why time matters in everyday life, society, and human understanding.

Measuring Time

Students will investigate how humans have measured time throughout history, from natural methods and ancient inventions to modern digital systems.

Time Zones

Students will collaborate with international partners to explore UTC, time zones, and how one shared moment can be experienced differently around the world.

Students will work together to create a shared ‘story of time’ timeline and create a ‘one shared moment’ map of the world.

Students will imagine future possibilities for measuring time and reflect on how human systems and agreements shape our understanding of the world.

Project Outcome

Students will collaborate with international partners to investigate how humans understand, measure, and organise time. Throughout the project, they will explore historical and modern methods of timekeeping, contribute to a collaborative global timeline, and work together to calculate and compare time zones around the world. As a final outcome, students will create shared reflections, maps, and presentations that demonstrate their understanding of time across cultures, history, and future possibilities, while developing communication, critical thinking, and global collaboration skills.
